Dreibündenstein Panorama Hike

Pleasure hike from Brambrüesch to Dreibündenstein

The eventful and enjoyable hike from Brambrüesch to Dreibündenstein and on to Feldis leads through enchanting Alpine flora and offers magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding mountain world. The attractive round-trip ticket includes all cable car rides as well as the return journey by bus or train.

Route

A hike of incomparable beauty begins 1000 metres above the Alpine town of Chur. The starting point on the Brambrüesch plateau can be reached directly from the town centre by cable car. A further 600-metre ascent to the Dreibündenstein is required.

At the landmark of the former three Rhaetian Leagues, a unique panoramic view opens up, ranging from the local mountains around Chur, Arosa and Lenzerheide to the Glarus Alps. The mountain overthrust of the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona is also impressive to observe, which can be seen particularly beautifully from here on the opposite Ringelspitz up to the Flimser mountains (Segnes, Tschingelhörner). The two-part panorama board at the highest point of the hike (Furggabüel) shows the names of the peaks and the Tectonic Arena Sardona.

The descent into the mountain village of Feldis leads through a rich alpine flora, along idyllic landscapes with forests, alpine settlements and the picturesque mountain lake Leg Palus. From Feldis, the gondola lift takes you to Rhäzüns, crossing at lofty heights the Rhäzünser Rheinauen, one of the last major natural river landscapes of the Rhine and one of the most intact floodplain landscapes in Switzerland. From Rhäzüns, you can continue by Rhaetian Railway or city bus back to Chur.
